ILL Email Messages

 

The ILL office staff sends a variety of emails, see below, about your request.  In all communications from the ILL office, the Transaction Number (TN) of the item requested is included in the communication. If you have questions about your request, please include the TN number in your communication to ILL.

Email notices:

Requested loan has arrived: your item has been received and is being processed. You should be able to pick it up within 24 hours of receipt of this email. If you no longer need the item, please let us know and we will return the item for you.

ILL request cancelled: your request has been cancelled due to unavailability of item. Many times a conversation with ILL staff will occur before receiving this email notice.

Recall: the lending library needs their book back. Usually a revised due date is assigned. Please be considerate and return the item by the new date. You can re-request the item.

ILL item due: your loan is coming due. This is the time to request a renewal or return the item.

Renew: your loan has a new due date. Most libraries will allow one renewal.

Overdue: Your item is overdue, please return it as soon as possible.

Extremely Overdue: You have exceeded the timeframe for your loan. Your Illiad account has now been blocked and an administrative hold has been placed in Banner, you may accrue fines. If you have lost the book, you will need to pay the library's replacement charges. There is a good chance you have jeopardized others in the Plattsburgh academic community from receiving materials from this library. Please let us know your circumstance regarding this item immediately.

Explaination of ILLiad request status

You can check the status of your request by logging your ILLiad account and in the VIEW section, click on "outstanding requests" Every request is assigned a Transaction Number (TN)

Awaiting Copyright Clearance: your request is being checked for copyright restrictions. After this step is cleared, the request can move forward in the request process.

In Request Processing: Your request is being processed. We will contact you if there is an electronic copy or we need to cancel the request. Otherwise, your request will be sent to other libraries.

Request Sent: Your request has been sent to a list of libraries that own the item. You will receive an email updating you on the status of the request.

Please note: to access  articles sent to your ILLiad account, go to the VIEW section; click on "Electronically Received Articles", click on the transaction number.

Awaiting Customer Response: We have sent you an email informing you of a special situation or need more information. Please contact us promptly
